Marv
He is the greatest character in Sin City,
- He is this very strong person, whom cant be defeated or killed easily
- He is a loner, he does not belong to a gang or a community, it’s just him all alone.
- He is a killer looking for the fat big kill such as all the characters in the city, but he deals with it in a concise way, he knows its wrong but the options are lacking.
- He has respect for his revenge, he knows if it is vengeance then it should be real vengeance, he will do it his way no matter how ugly it is. You might consider he is a monster for the way he dealt with his vengeance, I do not think so even when he cut the guys hands & legs (not that I would do it or agree on it).You see there is no point of killing someone for revenge. Killing means this person is gone & will not be with us again, but there is no moral in that. Vengeance is about making someone understand what he/she committed towards you; I guess Marv did a great job in that.
- His emotions is the interesting part of him, he is willing to love like no other person, he met Goldy for one night & Goldy gave him one single thing, she looked behind his face. That is something we all need, not that we are monsters but that people see what is behind our madness, behind our looks, behind what we show because what we show might not always be our essence but it might be what we are used to do to protect ourselves from our fears. Goldy did that to Marv for one night & he was willing to give up all his life for this one thing, her love or the real him. We have people loving us everyday & we wont give that to them.
